Bus Services are provided primarily through the route networks of Wilts & Dorset, Bluestar serving the Southampton area and Southern Vectis on the Isle of Wight. These networks are in the majority commercially operated but there is significant involvement in the tendered local bus market, together with school and college movements. The prestigious contracts to operate the Southampton Uni-link network and Bournemouth University’s bus network are currently held, together with contracts for other higher education providers such as Brockenhurst and Barton Peveril (Eastleigh) colleges.

Our coach companies Damory, Tourist and Marchwood provide a range of contract and private hire services, whilst there is also significant involvement in local bus operation, primarily through tendered operations in the rural market.

Hants & Dorset Trim is our specialist vehicle refurbishment company, providing body, paint, seat trim and accident repair services, primarily (but not exclusively) to the bus and coach industry.

A total of 550 vehicles are operated, with key depot sites in Poole, Salisbury, Eastleigh and the Isle of Wight, supported by smaller depots at Bournemouth, Swanage, Ringwood, Lymington and Totton. In addition, a number of smaller outstation sites are maintained, primarily within the county of Wiltshire.

Go South Coast is wholly owned by the Go Ahead Group and is one of its largest companies in the Bus Division, and certainly its most diverse. This complex but rewarding suite of businesses provides continuous opportunities and challenges to the director and management team.
